Our school follows the Reggio Emilia philosophy, a globally respected approach that recognizes each child as capable, creative, and full of potential. Teachers observe closely, listen deeply, and guide learning experiences based on the child’s natural interests.

Classrooms are intentionally designed to feel calm, beautiful, and engaging. Natural materials and open spaces encourage exploration, creativity, and meaningful connection.

What is the Reggio Emilia approach?

The Reggio Emilia philosophy was founded in Italy and has influenced early education worldwide. At its core, it respects each child’s individuality and emphasizes learning through exploration, relationships, and hands-on experiences. Key principles include:

  • Emergent Curriculum: Learning is guided by your child’s questions and interests.
  • Educators as Partners: Teachers are observers and collaborators, not lecturers.
  • Parental Partnership: Parents are part of the learning journey and school community.

A typical day at KLA Lakewood Ranch

Each day at KLA follows a consistent, nurturing rhythm that helps children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.

From the moment they’re greeted by name, your child is welcomed into a warm, community-driven environment. The day begins with songs and stories to spark connection and curiosity. Then, children dive into hands-on activities like painting, building, and exploring that follow their interests and encourage creativity.

Outdoor play offers fresh air, movement, and social growth. Meals and routines are handled with care, turning everyday moments into chances for independence. After a peaceful rest, children reflect on their discoveries and help shape what comes next.

Whether your child is an infant or a preschooler, their experience is guided by educators who know them, support them, and partner with you every step of the way.
