As a dedicated preschool owner and Director of Operations, I believe every child deserves a joyful, nurturing place to learn, grow, and feel deeply valued. I enjoy working closely with my teachers and families to create a safe, welcoming environment where curiosity is encouraged, individuality is celebrated, and strong foundations are built through play, connection, and meaningful learning. My background of education stems from my early years working with middle schoolers as a science teacher. I further strengthened my knowledge base and leadership skills by obtaining my Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies before moving into early education and opening KLA Schools of Flower Mound in 2016. It has been a beautiful experience that has brought me so much joy and purpose.

I truly believe our preschool is more than just a school - it is a community. I am committed to building lasting partnerships with families, supporting educators, and ensuring every child is surrounded by care, encouragement, and a true sense of belonging. I am guided by the belief that it takes a village to raise a child, my goal is to always lead with compassion, integrity, and the heartfelt goal of helping children become confident, kind, and lifelong learners.

Hello, my name is Julie Lee, and I’m proud to serve as the Director of KLA Schools of Flower Mound. I bring over a decade of experience in early childhood education and a deep passion for supporting young children and their families.In 2022, my family planted roots here in Flower Mound, and that’s when I discovered the beautiful KLA community. I started as a 3-year-old classroom teacher, then served as Assistant Director for nearly two years, and now I’m honored to lead the school as Director.

I’ve experienced the preschool world through many lenses: first as a mom to two daughters just 13 months apart, then as a teacher for over 10 years, and now as an administrator. My journey into this field began when my daughters started preschool, and I found myself naturally drawn into the classroom alongside them. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for early learning. Having walked in many different shoes—as a parent, educator, and now school leader—gives me a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of how to support both children and families, as well as our dedicated KLA staff.

I chose KLA for many of the same reasons our families do: a safe, clean environment, a welcoming and positive culture, and a meaningful curriculum. What truly inspired me was the Reggio Emilia approach. I believe children are naturally curious, capable, and full of potential. As educators, our role is to nurture that growth by offering thoughtful guidance and creating an environment that inspires exploration, independence, and joy. At KLA, the environment itself becomes a “third teacher,” intentionally designed to support discovery and connection.

KLA isn’t just a place where children learn. It’s a place that feels like home. I look forward to welcoming your family and supporting your child’s journey with care, intention, and heart.

Kim Ferguson

Office Administrator

Kim is our Office Administrator and brings 7 years of experience in early childhood education to our team. Before stepping into administration, she spent 3 years teaching in both the 3’s and 4’s classrooms, giving her valuable hands-on experience working directly with young children and families.

With an additional 4 years of experience in administration and a Director’s License, Kim is a valuable member of our leadership team. She helps ensure that our children are always safe, supported, and thriving while also helping maintain a welcoming, safe, and well-organized environment for children, families, and staff.

Kim’s combination of classroom experience and administrative knowledge allows her to support our school from both perspectives, making her a vital part of our early childhood community.
