Roberto and Candy Ortega founded the first KLA Schools preschool in Miami in 2008. For both Roberto and Candy, this was a lifelong dream deeply rooted, researched, and planned. Roberto, KLA Schools' CEO inherited his passion for education from his grandfather who founded several schools of his own. Candy, Co-Founder of KLA Schools has a degree in education and began her career as a preschool teacher at a Reggio Emilia-inspired school.

Roberto and Candy founded KLA Schools on the belief that all children have the right to a high-quality education where their capabilities, talents, and abilities are honored and respected. Through visits to Reggio Emilia in Italy and close partnerships with international leaders in the Reggio Emilia Approach such as Reggio Children and the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA), KLA Schools has become a national leader in the Reggio Emilia Approach.
KLA Schools preschools can now be found in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Illinois, California, Washington, Oregon and Kentucky, with thousands of students and families across the country benefitting from our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to early childhood education.
