Ayla Taylor

Assistant Director

Ayla's passion for early childhood education began at just 13 years old, and from that moment, she knew her heart belonged in nurturing and guiding young learners. She joined KLA Schools in 2022 as an Assistant Teacher in Nido A and later transitioned into the Lead Teacher role in 2A, building strong connections with both her students and their families.

After briefly stepping away to explore nursing school, Ayla quickly realized that her true calling was in early education. Now, in a leadership role, she is thrilled to be back, not only supporting the growth and development of young children but also uplifting and inspiring fellow educators.

To Ayla, KLA Schools is more than just a place of learning—it’s a community where curiosity is nurtured, relationships flourish, and children grow into incredible individuals. She is excited to continue making a meaningful impact and being part of each child’s journey

Mattie Thompson

Atelierista

Mattie joined KLA in November 2024, shortly after earning her degree in Fine Studio Arts. She began her teaching career in 2021 as an assistant in the infant classroom and worked her way up to a lead afternoon Pre- K teacher. She later took a year away from teaching to launch her mural and painting business, collaborating with City Council on beautification projects. After moving to Atlanta in August 2024, she briefly taught three-year-olds at a shelter dedicated to ending childhood homelessness before joining KLA to pursue her passion for arts education.

Mattie's love for teaching art comes from witnessing the natural, unbridled creativity of children. She believes that fostering confidence in artistic expression from an early age gives children an outlet to grow alongside, make their imagination feel tangible. In her classroom, she creates an environment where children are encouraged to get messy, appreciate their mistakes and most importantly, grow in their creativity!
