Michelle Pernas

Pedagogical Coordinator

My name is Michelle Pernas. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have a Masters in preschool and elementary education. After many years working as a teacher, I moved to Miami and became part of the KLA Family. This is when I fell in love with a philosophy that would change my approach to education forever. At KLA schools, I was introduced and learned the Reggio Emilia Philosophy and became passionate about creating environments and opportunities that value and respect the image of the child. I have attended several trainings and conferences throughout the US and I also had the amazing opportunity to visit the city of Reggio Emilia and be part of a wonderful Study Group.

As a Pedagogical Coordinator, I enjoy supporting and guiding teachers in their everyday journey of finding ways to offer children endless opportunities to develop their abilities so they can become well rounded human beings. Children are our future and I feel blessed to be a part of their development. Through inspirations from Reggio Emilia and working with teachers, I strive to support children to develop into independent and passionate learners.
