Bella Lavoie

Co-Director, Family Experience

Through my experience in early childhood education and school administration, I have had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with our children, families, and educators. Having grown within the KLA community, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting a school that means so much to me.

Building relationships is at the heart of what I do. In my role, I focus on strengthening family partnerships, fostering open and thoughtful communication, and ensuring that every family feels welcomed, heard, and supported. I believe that strong connections between families, educators, and school leadership help create a nurturing community where children can truly thrive.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering new places, and visiting Disney. I look forward to continuing to grow alongside our KLA community and helping make each family’s experience with us meaningful and memorable.

Adile Gabriela

Co-Director, Team & Culture

My journey into early childhood education began in an unexpected way. Born and raised in southern Brazil, I originally studied law and worked in criminal law and child protection. Through that experience, I discovered that my true calling was working with and advocating for children, a passion that ultimately led me to early childhood education.

At KLA Schools of Horizon West, I have had the opportunity to grow through several roles, including Assistant Teacher, Pre-K Lead Teacher, Atelierista, and now Co-Director of Team & Culture. The Reggio Emilia philosophy deeply resonates with me, particularly its view of children as capable, curious, and creative individuals. In my leadership role, I am passionate about supporting and developing our educators while nurturing a positive school culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, joy, and meaningful relationships.

My goal is to help create a community where children, families, and educators feel valued, supported, and a genuine sense of belonging. Outside of KLA, I enjoy volunteering with infants at my church, discovering new places to eat, and spending time at Disney. It is a privilege to serve our KLA community and contribute to a joyful environment where children and educators can thrive.

Erin Juettner

Co-Director, Operations

I bring more than ten years of experience in early childhood education, with a background spanning both classroom teaching and school leadership. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Care from Curry College in 2023 and went on to serve as a teacher and Assistant Director, gaining valuable experience supporting children, educators, and the day-to-day operations of an early childhood program.

As Co-Director of Operations at KLA Schools of Horizon West, I am passionate about creating a safe, organized, and inspiring environment where children can thrive and educators feel supported. I am especially drawn to KLA’s Reggio Emilia-inspired approach and its emphasis on creativity, curiosity, and meaningful, hands-on learning.

Outside of school, I enjoy exploring the Disney parks and experimenting with new bread recipes for my family. I look forward to continuing to grow alongside our children, families, and educators and contributing to the welcoming KLA community.

Milena Barros

Pedagogist

Originally from Brazil, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy before moving to Italy to deepen my understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach at its source. During my three years in Italy, I participated in international seminars in Reggio Emilia and completed internships in schools throughout Reggio Emilia and Modena, gaining firsthand experience with the philosophy and practices that continue to shape my work today.

For more than five years, I have been proud to call KLA Schools of Horizon West my professional home. I am currently furthering my education through a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on the Reggio Emilia Approach at the University of Colorado.

As Pedagogist, I collaborate closely with our educators to develop meaningful, long-term research projects inspired by children’s interests, questions, and natural curiosity. I also mentor and support our teaching team in bringing the Reggio Emilia philosophy to life through thoughtful environments, intentional experiences, observation, and documentation. I believe every child is capable, curious, and full of tremendous potential and deserves to be met with respect, love, and thoughtful guidance.

Outside of my professional role, I am a wife and proud mother of two boys, Pedro and Lucas. Both my international training and my experience as a mother continue to shape the genuine and heartfelt perspective I bring to our children, educators, and KLA community each day.
