KLA Schools Celebrate Cultural Month to Build Belonging, Curiosity, and Global Awareness

Plainfield/Naperville, IL — March 2026 — KLA Schools of Plainfield, Naperville, and Naperville West proudly celebrated Cultural Month throughout March, inviting children and families to explore countries from around the world through stories, music, movement, art, and hands-on classroom experiences. Rooted in KLA’s belief that children learn best through meaningful relationships and real-life connections, Cultural Month helps children develop curiosity, empathy, and respect for the diverse world around them.

The month concluded with a joyful Cultural Celebration, where KLA’s 3- and 4-year-old students proudly showcased their learning by singing songs, dancing, and reciting poems for their families. Students also participated in a cultural parade, carrying flags and wearing cultural attire that represented the countries they studied, while celebrating the rich diversity within the KLA community.

Family partnership played a central role in the success of Cultural Month. Families were invited into classrooms to participate in country-themed experiences, share cultural artifacts and traditions, and serve as guest speakers, bringing authentic perspectives that made learning come alive. These shared experiences strengthened the home-school connection and reinforced KLA’s commitment to creating inclusive learning environments where every child feels seen, valued, and connected.

KLA Schools of Naperville was especially honored to welcome a guest speaker, a counselor from the Journal of Pakistan, who shared about Pakistani culture with the children. Together, they sang “Dil Dil Pakistan” and engaged in meaningful conversations that brought the country’s traditions and spirit to life in a memorable way.

“Cultural Month is meaningful because it builds belonging and helps children learn to appreciate differences in a positive, age-appropriate way,” shared KLA Schools leadership. “When families and educators learn together, children gain confidence in who they are and curiosity about the world.”

Families shared enthusiastic feedback following the event, with comments such as, “Well done, what a great event,” “You guys always do a great job with the cultural parade,” and “It was so cute—the cutest part was when all of the babies came out to parade.” One family also shared, “I look forward to this event every year.”
