KLA Schools Welcomes Families for Curriculum Night, Building Stronger Connections Between Home and School

Families explore KLA Schools’ approach to learning, classroom experiences, and the year ahead

September 2026 — KLA Schools recently welcomed families into its classrooms for Curriculum Night, an evening designed to give parents a closer look at their children’s learning experiences and strengthen the partnership between families and educators.

Throughout the evening, families spent time with teachers, explored classroom environments, and learned more about the curriculum, classroom practices, and experiences planned for the upcoming school year.

For many parents, the evening offered an opportunity to see their child’s school experience from a new perspective, not simply what children do during the day, but the thinking and intentionality behind those experiences.

One parent shared that this was the first Curriculum Night she had attended and said she was especially glad she came because of how much she learned during the evening.

“Curriculum Night gives our families an opportunity to step inside the learning process,” said Erica Koegel, Executive Director at KLA Schools. “Parents see the classroom every day at drop-off and pick-up, but this evening allows us to go deeper, to talk about why the environment is designed the way it is, how teachers support children’s development, and how the experiences children encounter each day contribute to their learning.”

Teachers met with families in their classrooms, sharing information about the curriculum and the upcoming school year while answering questions and discussing what families can expect in the months ahead.

The evening also created space for something central to the KLA Schools experience: conversation. Rather than communication flowing only from school to home, Curriculum Night gives educators and parents an opportunity to exchange perspectives and build relationships around the individual child.

Across the Curriculum Night gatherings, families expressed appreciation for the information shared and the opportunity to better understand both the curriculum and upcoming school events.
