FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE - November 11th, 2022

October was packed with a variety of Fall experiences, events, and learning at KLA Schools of Naperville, Naperville West, and Plainfield. To start the month of October, students at KLA Schools enjoyed a visit from the local Fire Departments in honor of Fire Prevention Month. Firefighters spoke to the students and explained the different protective gear and gadgets that they use. Following their discussion, the students could go outside and see the truck!

On Saturday, October 15th, the schools were thrilled to host their annual walk-a-thon and Fall Festival at a local Naperville park. With KLA Schools of Naperville West scheduled to officially open on Tuesday, October 18th, Carrie Hemmer, the Director of Admissions, mentioned, “it was the first event that we were able to officially introduce to our new KLA Families of Naperville West; it was amazing to see all the families come together and enjoy activities such as face painting, dancing with DJ Jason, and of course just spending time with their friends and family!”

Heather Kostov, the Pedagogical Coordinator of the Naperville West location and one of our Literacy Committee leaders, helped organize a Scholastic Book Fair for KLA Schools of Naperville and Plainfield. Reaching over $6000 in book sales between the two schools, Heather mentioned, “these fairs not only benefit the children by putting more books in their hands, but it also means each school will benefit from a massive amount of new books for each school’s classroom and enrichment areas.”

The best way to finish out the month of October is to celebrate one of the children’s favorite holidays - Halloween! Students from all three locations paraded around their school parking lots in their festive costumes and visited several trunks for our annual Trunk-or-Treat event. Meghan Zeller, the Pedagogical Coordinator of the Naperville location, said, “this was the first Halloween post-pandemic, and the turnout was amazing. The trunks were so creative, and the families went above and beyond, making it special for the kids.”

KLA Schools of Naper-Plainfield is very thankful for the Parent Partnership that has been established within the schools, and each year, they are continued to be blown away with their support of everything they do as a school.

KLA Schools of Naperville, Naperville West, and Plainfield have open enrollment and offer personalized virtual and in-person Saturday visits by appointment. Please contact Carrie Hemmer, our admissions director, to schedule a visit to the schools.
