FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE - April 24, 2024

Naperville, IL – April 24, 2024– KLA Schools of Naperville, Naperville West, and Plainfield dedicated the month of April to enhancing early childhood literacy, marking significant strides in nurturing young minds through engaging and educational activities. The schools kicked off the month by participating in the national Week of the Young Child from April 6th to April 12th, culminating in a vibrant Family Literacy Night.

Family Literacy Night, held on April 12th across all three locations, provided an engaging platform for families to participate in literacy-enriched activities with their children. This event emphasized the importance of parental involvement in early education and offered a variety of interactive experiences designed to foster a love for reading among young learners. Pedagogical Coordinator, Meghan Zeller, noted the impact of these activities, saying, "All the classrooms did such a great job bringing the books to life for literacy night."

In addition to Family Literacy Night, KLA Schools Naperville and Plainfield both hosted a Scholastic Book Fair, which was a resounding success. The book fair raised a total of $6,232.03 in sales. A percentage of these funds will be directly reinvested into purchasing new books for the classrooms, further supporting the schools' commitment to enhancing their literacy programs.

Emily Townsend, a parent from Plainfield, shared her enthusiasm about the event, exclaiming, "Your events are great! You guys are amazing for doing this!" Her enthusiasm reflects the sentiment of many parents who appreciate the schools’ initiatives to promote early literacy.

These events not only celebrate the importance of reading but also highlight KLA Schools’ commitment to educational excellence and community engagement. The schools continue to foster an environment where literacy skills are developed and celebrated with the support of the entire community.

KLA Schools of Naperville, Naperville West, and Plainfield are currently enrolling for the 2024-25 Academic Year and offer personalized weekly tours and in-person Saturday visits by appointment.
