Our Story
It all started here in North Bay Village, where for the past thirteen years
I've had the honor of building a community I'm deeply proud of. I'm Sophia
Zamor Santa, founder of KLA Schools of North Bay Village. We opened our doors in 2013, the same year my first son was born, and in many ways the two have grown up together ever since.
My path here wasn't a straight line. I hold a master's degree in industrial
engineering from Purdue and spent years working in consumer brands across Latin
America before returning to my family's business in Haiti. It was there, while
serving as Vice President of the school board at the Lycée Alexandre Dumas,
that I found my true calling in education. My husband and I later moved our
family from Haiti to Miami, and I brought that same passion here to KLA Schools
of North Bay Village.
As a mother of two boys myself, I know firsthand how much it matters to find
a school that feels like family, one where your child is respected, seen, and
given the space to grow into who they're meant to be.
I believe the first five years of a child's life lay the foundation for a
lifelong love of learning, and that social and emotional growth matter just as
much as academics. Every child deserves a school that supports the whole of who they are, and that belief is what guides everything we do here, from our
classrooms to our Piazza to the teachers who walk alongside your family every
day.
