KLA Schools Host Annual Walk-a-Thon and Fall Festival Bringing Together Over 200 Families for Fun, Fitness, and Fall Festivities

Plainfield, IL — October 20, 2024 – KLA Schools of Plainfield, Naperville, and Naperville West brought the community together for a day of fitness, family, and fun at the annual Fall Festival and Walk-a-Thon held at Frontier Park on October 19th. Organized by the Health and Safety Committee, this beloved event welcomed over 200 guests, including students, parents, grandparents, and school staff, all joining to support health and wellness while enjoying the beauty of fall.

The Walk-a-Thon kicked off the day as participants made their way along the scenic park trail, soaking in the sunshine and perfect weather. Reflecting on the day, KLA Schools Executive Director Erica Koegel remarked, “I am so grateful that the weather cooperated for us this year. Last year, we had to hold the Fall Festival at the school because it was raining and cold. It’s wonderful to see everyone here enjoying the outdoors together.”

After the Walk-a-Thon, the festival began with a lineup of engaging activities for children and families. DJ Jason kept spirits high with lively music, while face painters, a balloon artist, and classic fall snacks like popcorn added to the festive atmosphere. Teachers also planned a variety of games and interactive activities for families, including fall-inspired games, bean bag toss, hula hoop competitions, parachute play, and tug-of-war matchups with families, teachers, and leadership competing for the win.

Parent Natasha Shastri expressed her appreciation, saying, “This is awesome. We really appreciate the time and effort the team puts into your events!” The event successfully fostered a sense of community among families and staff from all three KLA Schools. As Gina, another parent, shared, “It was great to see all three KLA schools come together and enjoy wonderful experiences and the amazing fall weather!”

The Annual Family Walk-a-Thon and Fall Festival highlighted KLA Schools’ dedication to promoting community, fitness, and family engagement, creating memories that will last long beyond the season.
