Frequently Asked Questions about KLA Schools of Prospect

Looking for more details? Explore our most frequently asked questions to learn about our educational philosophy, curriculum, and the lasting impact of a KLA Schools experience.

In what ways will my child be ready for kindergarten after attending your program?

At KLA Schools of Prospect, our inquiry-based curriculum supports the development of academic, social, and emotional skills that children need for a strong start. Through hands-on exploration and meaningful experiences, they build confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. Our graduates transition smoothly into both private and public schools, ready to thrive with the curiosity, resilience, and critical thinking that lay the foundation for lifelong success.

My child appears to be more advanced than other children of their age. Will you place them in an older class?

We place children in classrooms based on their age as of August 1st, following Kentucky’s cutoff date. While we don’t advance children by birthday, our small ratios and flexible teaching ensure that every child is challenged and supported at their own level.

What are the teacher-to-child ratios at your preschool in Prospect?

Our teacher-to-child ratios go beyond state requirements to provide more individualized attention and support. For example:

  • Infants (Baby Nido): 1 teacher for every three children
  • Toddlers (Nido): 1 teacher for every six children
  • Preschool (Age 2): 1 teacher for every seven children, (Age 3 and 4) 1 teacher for every 10 children

These smaller ratios enable our educators to build meaningful relationships with each child and provide more effective support for their development at every stage of growth in our daycare.

Do you offer part-time enrollment at KLA Schools of Prospect?

Yes, we do! Families have the option to enroll their child in a half-day program, starting in our Nido classroom (for 1-year-olds) and continuing through our older age groups. This flexible schedule is ideal for parents who want their child to transition into preschool gradually while still enjoying extra time at home. For infants under 12 months, we offer only a full-day schedule, as consistency in care is especially important at that stage. Whether part-time or full-time, all programs are Monday through Friday, providing children with a routine and meaningful learning opportunities each day.

Are meals provided at your preschool?

We provide both morning and afternoon snacks, carefully planned to meet state licensing and nutritional requirements. Snacks may include items such as fruits, whole grains, or other child-friendly options designed to support healthy growth and energy throughout the day. For lunch, families are invited to pack a meal from home, allowing children to enjoy the foods they know and love. We store all lunches safely in a refrigerator and are happy to warm items when needed, making sure children have a comfortable and nourishing mealtime experience.

Does your daycare in Prospect offer infant formula, diapers, or wipes?

To ensure that every child receives the care products that best meet their individual needs, parents are encouraged to provide their own infant formula, diapers, and wipes. We believe this is the best way to honor each child’s unique routines, sensitivities, and comfort. By using the products families choose, we can provide consistent, personalized care that keeps children safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the day.

How are parents involved in the learning process at your preschool?

Parents play an essential role at KLA Schools of Prospect. We maintain an open-door policy and offer multiple ways for families to stay connected, including the KLA app, regular classroom updates, a parent-led PAK group, and community events. By working together, we strengthen trust and create an environment where children feel confident and eager to learn.

At what age can I enroll my child in your preschool?

Enrollment at KLA Schools of Prospect is available for children as young as 6 weeks through age 4. We provide flexible full-time and part-time schedules, ensuring families can access the high-quality early education that best supports their child’s growth.
