KLA Schools Honor Educators with “Teaching Through the Decades” Celebration

KLA Schools Celebrate Teachers with “Teaching Through the Decades” Week of Fun and Appreciation Naperville, IL – May 2025 – KLA Schools honored its outstanding educators across all three campuses with a lively and heartfelt celebration for Teacher Appreciation Week, themed “Teaching Through the Decades.” Each day, staff dressed in iconic fashion from a different era, filling classrooms with joy, nostalgia, and school spirit.

Monday: Groovy vibes of the 1960s kicked off the week
Tuesday: Bell bottoms and disco fever lit up the 1970s
Wednesday: Neon, leg warmers, and big hair ruled the 1980s
Thursday: Denim, flannel, and pop culture throwbacks brought back the 1990s
Friday: Sparkle and sass closed the week with 2000s flair


Beyond the dress-up fun, classrooms echoed with era-specific music, trivia games started each morning, and a special appreciation dinner offered educators a chance to connect and introduce their significant others.

One teacher shared, “The Eras theme for Teacher Appreciation Week was a great hit. We enjoyed dressing up and playing music from each decade in our classrooms. Thank you for all of the spoiling!”

Families also joined the celebration, adding to the week’s excitement. “The teachers and families loved the decades days! Trivia was a fun start to the day, and the teachers were excited to see the winners each afternoon,” said a center leader.

A heartwarming highlight included a “Guess Who?” activity where staff identified childhood photos of their coworkers, sparking laughter and connection across the schools.
